Welcome
Welcome from the Executive Committee of the South Coast
Branch.
On behalf of the Executive Committee I would like to
welcome you to the South Coast Branch of IOSH. Hopefully you will
find our site helpful, informative and a good way of staying in
touch with the Branch and other IOSH activities.
The aim of the Branch is to support its
members in their professional activities and in their professional
development. To this end the South Coast Branch holds monthly
meetings at the Aegas Bowl (Hampshire County’s Cricket Ground) from
January to November, where members can meet and network in an
informal friendly atmosphere. The meetings alternate between a
14:00hr start one month and a 19:00hr start the following month as
it is acknowledged some members may not be able to attend afternoon
meetings or equally some may not be able to attend evening
meeting.
Whilst our meetings are primarily for IOSH
members they are also open to anyone with an interest in health and
safety.
Recent topics and presentations have included
marine safety investigations, asbestos, legal updates, worker
involvement and behaviour, occupational health and construction.
These provide those attending with opportunities to develop or fine
tune their health and safety knowledge and skills.
I am supported in my role as Branch Chair by
an active, supportive and enthusiastic Executive Committee of
volunteers who work hard as a Team to benefit members and provide
the best development opportunities.
It is an honour to serve as your Branch
Chairman and I look forward to meeting and hearing from as many
branch members as possible.
If you have any queries, issues, thoughts or
ideas but cannot attend a meeting please feel free to contact me or
any one of the Executive Committee members who will be only too
willing to help, after all, the Branch is there to represent all
its members.
