Dear IOSH Singapore Members
As preparations are underway for the upcoming celebrations of
the 2013 Year of the black snake, Singapore IOSH committee would
like to take this opportunity to wish our members Gong XI Fa Cai.
Whether our members plan to celebrate this important date on the
Chinese calendar or just take the opportunity for some rest and
vacation time, this date marks every calendar. 2013 is the year of
the Black Snake, the sixth animal of the Chinese Zodiac, an animal
associated in Eastern belief with qualities such Dignity, Wisdom,
Focus and Discipline.
For Singaporeans, our leadership predict and plan for slow but
sustainable growth, with much topical debate on population with the
recently presented White paper. There is a lot of progress on the
new developments such as the Sports Hub and Jurong Lake District
Development. Our country will also see considerable expansion of
the public transport system over the coming years and a possible
hi-tec Terminal 4 at Changi. With much to look forward to, let us
all go forward with renewed focus and enthusiasm towards making
Singapore a safer and even more enjoyable place to live and
work.
