Why I serve as a committee Member:

I am a committee member because it provides me with the opportunity to contribute to my local branch and give something back to my professional body.

Having progressed through the IOSH membership structure on the route to becoming Chartered, I understand how challenging this process can seem to new members. 

By serving as a committee member with the Northern Ireland branch I get the chance to support all grades of membership and encourage those who are embarking on the same journey.

My background and experience:

My experience comes primarily from high volume production and manufacturing, where I have been involved with health and safety in both the automotive and aerospace industries. 

I have a number of years consultancy experience, having worked for a long established local company and later running my own business.

My specialist skills and knowledge:

My main ‘pet’ subject is Asbestos, although I have been fortunate enough to be involved in the implementation of Contractor Management programs at several large scale facilities.

I have an interest in the specialist area of Occupational Hygiene and continue to build on my qualifications and experience in this discipline.
