Welcome
Welcome to the website for
the Northern Ireland Branch of IOSH.
IOSH is the leading organisation for Safety and Health
practitioners of all grades. In Northern Ireland we currently
have a membership of around six hundred and fifty and this
number is steadily growing.
The Northern Ireland Branch Committee aims to
represent members by running the Branch effectively, in
accordance with the Institution’s by-laws, aims and
objectives.
Please remember that the Branch is here to
help and support you. Our focus is on assisting our members
with personal development and helping individuals to progress
through the membership structure. We provide mentoring to help
members work towards Chartered status. If you would like any
further information about mentoring please contact the Branch
Secretary.
Our Branch meetings and events are a great
opportunity to network with like minded professionals, exchange
knowledge and information and keep abreast of the latest
developments in the industry. We aim to provide a variety of
interesting and informative events throughout the coming year.
Everyone is welcome, including non-members, so if you know of
someone who might like to attend, please encourage them to come
along.
We are always keen to hear about your ideas,
so if you have any suggestions regarding the theme of future events
or would like to propose a guest speaker, please contact the Branch
Secretary – we will be very pleased to hear from you.
Attending a Branch event is a good way of
attaining Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. In
addition, we can provide members with many other opportunities to
take part in CPD activities.
Remember - Chartered Fellows, Chartered
Members, Graduate and Technician Members must carry out CPD to
safeguard their professional membership status. So, whether
its coming along to a meeting; borrowing a library book; attending
an IOSH training course or volunteering for the Committee – your
involvement in the Northern Ireland Branch will help you to build
up those hard earned CPD points !
The Northern Ireland Branch continues to be active in the wider
community. We believe that when it comes to health and
safety, only advice from qualified, experienced and skilled
professionals will do. That’s why we are always keen to
develop alliances with local organisations as we strive to
influence a full spectrum of businesses by promoting the ethos of
sensible risk management.
