Message from the Chair
I would like to thank members of the Middle East branch for
allowing me to represent them for a second term in promoting our
objectives and the benefits of IOSH membership.
Despite the difficulties of the current economic climate, I have
witnessed a growth in membership and an increase in awareness of
IOSH since joining the executive committee in 2008. I will be
looking to build on this success in 2010/2011, focussing on the
following key elements:
- supporting practitioners and aspiring practitioners through
mentoring activities to achieve professional aims,
objectives and development
- liaising with government departments and other stakeholders to
share information and best practice
- organising events for professionals to network and share
information
- developing alliances with forums and associations to promote
safer, healthier work environments
- actively recruit new members
With the continued support of the committee and members I want
our branch to lead the way forward in technologies, expansion,
reputation, professionalism and above all commitment.
As part of the executive committee I welcome feedback from all
members on suggested topics, activities, events or subjects you
would like us to address in the region during the coming year.
