Welcome to the branch meetings & events section
Our branch meetings usually take place on the first Tuesday of
each month at The Village Hotel, Bromborough, Wirral unless otherwise stated (see meeting
venue tab for directions).
7th September 2010 - Gas Safety
Register

Anyone carrying out gas work must have a Gas
Safe Register ID card, If not, they are breaking the law.
Abrar will give an overview of how the
register operates as well as the dangers that surround unsafe
gas appliances. Poorly maintained, faulty or badly installed gas
work leads to carbon monoxide poisioning the effects of which can
be fatal.

Standards

Management system standards provide a model to follow in setting
up and operating a management system.
David will outline how the model incorporates the features
on which experts in the field have reached a consensus as being the
international state of the art.

When the HSE decide to call in response to an incident it
can be very worrying for those involved.
Richard will outline the due process that HSE inspectors
will follow as well as discussing what preparations
organisations should make in order to be prepared.

Investigation workshop

safety professionals can say they competent to complete the
investigation in a thorough and systematic way.
Paul has spoken at many conferences on this topic and this
one day workshop aims to give an insight in into the correct
approach to accident investigation.

Branch meetings provide a good forum for networking and helping
members with their ongoing continuing professional development
(CPD). A branch programme is sent to all members during August.
Members are welcome to bring visitors/guests along
to meetings.
