Global Renewables - Site Visit
Overview
The Central Lancashire district invites you to visit a modern
household waste recycling facility operated by Global Renewables
Lancashire Limited at the Lancashire Waste Technology Park in
Leyland.
Global Renewables operate recycling facilities in Lancashire
which have been designed to treat over 300,000 tonnes per annum of
household waste. Recyclable materials are extracted for reuse and
organic waste is used to produce high quality compost. The
facilities have a dedicated in-vessel composting area for garden
waste, designed to process 80,000 tonnes per annum. The Leyland
site also boasts a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) which uses
state of the art technology to treat 55,000 tonnes of source
separated dry recyclables per year.
The plant will be viewed from purpose built walkways and viewing
galleries and the tour is being provided by Peter Halliwell,
Regional Health & Safety Manager for Global Renewables
Lancashire Limited.
This is a free event.
