Branch FAQs

Do I have to book a place or pay to attend one of your branch meetings?

No. just turn up and join in. If you have any queries, our Branch Secretary will help you.

If I have a question about IPD or CPD or something else related to a work problem I have, would the Branch be able to help me?

Yes, we have a number of members who are involved in these and from time to time we hold other types of meeting outside our annual branch programme.

How can I get more involved with branch activities?

Come along to the meetings and if you feel you can add something, then ask about becoming a member of the committee. Equally, if you have a specialism which you think could be of interest to other members, then why not suggest you can give a presentation?

Can I ask for certain topics to be included in the branch programme?

Yes, we welcome suggestions from members. The branch programme production process begins in January each year, so the earlier you make the suggestion, the more chance there is of it being included. Contact the Secretary with your suggestion.

When and where are your meetings held?

Our meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of the month from September until July the following year. We publish our programme on this website and details can also be found at our branch meetings. The meeting venue details are also included on this website.

Can I bring a colleague who isn't an IOSH member to meetings with me?

Yes, we welcome visitors and suggest that you can use the meetings to alert your managers about a topic by bringing them to relevant meetings.

What time do meetings start and how long do they last?

Meetings start at 18.00, with registration and refreshments from 17.30. Meetings last around one hour.
