The seminar will explore the key factors, challenges and best
practice to be considered when managing occupational road risks, to
reduce road related incidents and improve fuel efficiency.

The recent rising profile has stimulated the need to review and
where relevant improve the management of occupational road risk to
reduce road related incidents, reduce carbon emissions and offset
the ongoing soaring fuel costs. This topic is clearly on all safety
practitioner's radar.
Most health and safety practitioners will work for employers or
clients that have some form of involvement with work related
driving. This includes incidental drivers for example company or
private car drivers used on company business and employees who
drive company vehicles to carry out tasks such as construction or
maintenance tasks or professional drivers of vans, trucks,
coaches, and buses.
Please note this seminar is not about safe driving in isolation.
The seminar focuses more on the wider issues of the
management of occupational road risk key factors. These
include risk assessment, road risk management, driver wellbeing and
behaviours, the conflict of root cause investigation and liability
claims, emerging vehicle technology and full efficiency
management.

All health and safety practitioners and other professionals with
responsibility for managing or providing advice to fleet service
providers.
Speakers
David Mercer CMIOSH AIEMA has 20 years'
experience as a health and safety manager in the engineering,
manufacturing, public transport, and logistic industries. David is
also a voluntary Director/Council Member of the Road Operators
Safety Council (ROSCO).
ROSCO has been in existence for over 55 years and functions to
promote safe and fuel efficient driving standards and provide a low
cost safe driving recognition and reward scheme to businesses that
have employees who are incidental or professional drivers.
