'Construction Legal Update - Keeping up to speed on what the legal professionals and the courts are thinking'.

Outline of the presentation:

Having refreshed our memories on the pieces of health and safety legislation that are generating activity at the moment Simon and Kizzy will update us on the key issues from the perspective of legal professionals and then tell us how the Courts are interpreting the law in their judgements.

This event is open to anyone with an interested in construction health and safety, whether legally minded or not.

Speakers

Simon Joyston-Bechal: Partner, Pinsent Masons.

Simon is a Partner in Litigation and Arbitration and heads the firm's national Regulatory team.  He defended the first case in the country to be brought under the new Corporate Manslaughter Act and also led a team of lawyers for a group of oil companies in the multi-party £multi-million compensation litigation following the Buncefield oil terminal explosion.

Kizzy Augustin: Senior Counsel, Crowell & Moring.

Kizzy is an Associate in the firm’s Regulatory Team. Her experience is mainly in criminal litigation, specialising in the defence of commercial clients involved in regulatory investigations, with a particular interest in health and safety related matters.  Kizzy has presented the main branch general legal update for several years and continues to impress with her broad knowledge of the subject.

Due to security arrangements at 55 Broadway you will not be admitted unless you have booked in advance.  Places are limited to 30 by the size of the room, first come, first served.

There is no cost as the Meeting Room has generously been donated by Transport for London but you must book.  55 Broadway is over the top of St James Park tube station (District and Circle Line).  Refreshments will not be provided.
