Why I serve as a Committee Member
I want to be actively involved in raising the profile of Health
and Safety and the influence of IOSH at both a local and national
level. I am also keen to develop people who are involved in the IPD
scheme and aspiring to Chartered membership.
My specialist skills & knowledge:
I have been involved in Health and Safety full-time for the past
10 years and during that period l have facilitated a number of
training programmes including risk assessment, off-site activities,
manual handling, DSE, fire marshalling, COSHH, and first aid; this
is an area I particularly enjoy. I have also written a number of
polices and procedures and given various presentations relating to
Health and Safety in the workplace.
My background and experience:
I have worked in a cross-section of organisations including
Ambulance Trusts, Education, Local Authorities and Police Services.
Currently I am the Risk Manager at Lloyd’s. I have a MSc in
Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Management, and I
have qualified as a Lead Auditor for BS OHSAS 18001. I am also Vice
Chair of the Public Services Group.
My interests:
I am a keen road cyclist and during May 2011 l will be cycling
from Land’s End to John O’Groats for Action Medical Research, which
is a national children’s charity. I am also a keen supporter of
Fulham Football Club.

Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits.

The Rock staring Sean Connery.
