Paul Williams - Chair
IOSH membership grade:
CMIOSH
Why I serve as a Committee Member:
I am a member of the committee as I want to support IOSH and its
aims and promote effective, proportionate health and safety in the
workplace. I strongly believe that we should feel rewarded by the
work we do and not made ill or be injured.
My specialist skills & knowledge:
Is quite eclectic rather than specialist and is linked to my
work in behaviour and motivation, so I have done a lot on stress at
work. I have worked on events and foreign travel related risks and
the delivery of effective occupational health services.
My background and experience:
I have worked in private, public and charity sectors as well as
running my own business. My background has led to experiences as
diverse as assessing mould on an Egyptian mummy to tarantula’s in
parachutes.
My interests:
One of the things I am interested in how to effectively
influence without authority. I am interested in Transactional
Analysis and delivered a lecture to the branch last year.
I am an enthusiastic amateur magician and chess player – both
hobbies come in handy as a health and safety professional!!
My favourite music:
Bachs Brandenburg Concerto’s
My favourite book(s):
Winter in Madrid, The Reader
