With a background in the petrochemical industry, Les served as a health and safety adviser with the Metropolitan Police and Cargill plc before taking up his current position as a health and safety consultant and trainer. He is a founder member and former chairman of the Anglia South District.

Stephen has been involved in health & safety for over 17 years. For the last 12 years he has worked as a safety adviser for various local authorities.

Suzanne Riches, CMIOSH

Suzanne has 18 years health and safety experience working for various
organisations within the private and public sector. She is currently
serving as a Senior Health and Safety Advisor for the London Borough of
Havering.

Treasurer

David Buckett, CMIOSH

David is a qualified mechanical engineer and was involved in the design and development of industrial machinery. He was appointed as the health and safety officer for the Bank of England Printing Works in 1992. He now works as an independent health and safety consultant.

Richard Crickmore, CMIOSH

Richard has over 20 years experience and is currently working as a safety practitioner within a major international defence business involved with communications and electronics research.

Steve Rogers, CMIOSH

Steve has over 30 years experience in various health and safety roles within the rail industry. He is currently serving as Rail Safety Manager and Intranet Web Master for Global Crossing UK.

Karen Hoskins, Tech IOSH

Karen has 10 years health and safety experience within various industries including aviation, housing and hospitals, and currently manages the Health & Safety department for Essex Chambers of Commerce.

Eric Byrne, Tech IOSH

With a background in electrical maintenance and installation, Eric entered health and safety via a pharmaceutical and petrochemical industry in Europe and North America. Eric is currently serving as an HSEQ adviser on construction, housing maintenance, asbestos removal and environmental contracts throughout the UK.

George Whittle, CFIOSH

Inaugral chairman of the Essex Branch and recipient of the Presidential Distinguished Service Award.

Richard Palmer, CMIOSH

Involvement with H&S for over 25 years in the trades union, National Advisor for Customs, Head of Strategy etc. for the City of London and the current Head of H&S for The United Kingdom Border Agency. Specialising in Strategic Risk Management, Assurance, Audit and Management Systems.

Stephen Howlett, Tech IOSH

Stephen has been a maintenance engineer for nearly thirty years, eighteen of them as a union safety representative. He is currently heavily involved with the introduction of new automation machinery nationally for his employer, Royal Mail.
