Trent Valley Branch name change

The Trent Valley Branch is changing its name to the East Midlands Branch.

The change, which will take effect from Friday 9 April, is the result of membership confusion with the Trent Valley name. Branch Chair Richard Whitehead said: “There seemed to be no geographical identity and subsequently we ended up with members being lost to Midlands Branch. We have also had individuals confusing us with Thames Valley.”
 
Current members of the Branch will not have to take any action following the change, and the whole Branch should benefit from having a new name that better describes its location.

“From now on, it is hoped that our members will have an improved sense of geographical belonging, and the change may assist in the future planning of events” says Richard.
