Meet the Committee
Hello
My name is Amanda Curtis - and I am your Branch
Educational Development Advisor for the Chiltern area.
For those of you that I have not had the opportunity to meet
yet, I have provided a quick resume of who I am, a little bit
of my background, and my aspirations for supporting you as a
membership.
I am forty something..... married with a little boy who is 7
going on 27! and I live in Northamptonshire.
I have been a registered nurse for over twenty five years,
predominantly specialising in accident and emergency care,
and later went on to be a national peer reviewer for serious
adverse events.
I have always had a passion for educational development, not
just my own but others too. I completed my bachelors degree in
health care, and went on to further study with a Management
Diploma, and a Certificate in Employment Relations Law and
Practice- which I was able to utilise in the management of Personal
Injury Claims.
Already you can see a theme here ....... lots of educational
development, lots of reflection and consolidation.
I came into Health and Safety by accident about 4 years ago, and
loved the variety of activities that I was responsible for - not
forgetting the many challenges too! I completed my
NEBOSH Certificate and was accepted at Tech level through
IOSH.
I am now undertaking my Level 6 Diploma - and thoroughly
enjoying it.
I am passionate about continuous professional
development and supporting others through that journey
of reflective writing, action planning and anything else that
supports career enhancement and progression.
I hope to be a great resource for you, and will be more
than happy to spend some time brainstorming some of your concerns
and frustrations that will hopefully remove some of those obstacles
and in turn enhance your career and job/role
satisfaction.
Come and say hi, when you are next at the Branch meeting,
I look forward to meeting you.
Amanda Curtis
Branch Educational Development Advisor (Chiltern) and Web
