Welcome from the chair
Welcome from the Executive Committee of the
Bristol and West branch.
It is an honour to take over as your new
Branch Chairman, having been voted into this position at the AGM in
May 2011.
Let me begin by giving my sincere thanks to
Kevin Bridges, our out-going Chairman, who has served the Branch so
effectively – and enthusiastically over the past 7 years. I
know that Kevin will be a hard act to follow but I am fortunate to
have a very good Branch Executive to help me.
Please remember that the Branch is here to
help and support you. We have a number of trained mentors to
help members in the early stages of their career in
particular. We have another interesting programme of meetings
for you in 2011/12. Our meetings are a great opportunity for
getting together with colleagues and for networking. However,
where you are not able to attend, we provide podcasts and
presentations on the branch website for you to study at your
convenience.
Remember that non-members are welcome to
attend our meetings, so if you know someone who might be
interested, please do encourage them to come along.
If you have any suggestions for topics for
future meetings, or any ideas about the safety conference, please
speak to any member of the Branch Executive – we will be very
pleased to hear from you. In the meantime I hope that as many
of you as possible will be able to attend at least some of our
meetings and I look forward to seeing you.
