Health and safety public affairs

Ian Smart and delegate playing the Life savings quiz

To help us meet our aims and promote a healthier, safer and more sustainable world of work, we take our message to policy and decision makers.

Our Public affairs team speaks to politicians of all parties on key issues and engages with them through...

One-to-one meetings

We engage with politicians who we think will support and promote our policies and positions.

Briefings

Our briefings help politicians understand specific issues ahead of important parliamentary debates or inquiries. Our aim is to make IOSH the first point of contact whenever health and safety comes up in Parliament.

Consultations

We respond to every Government consultation related to health and safety, so we can make sure our Members’ views are heard in Government.  Have a look at the current list of consultations and give us your thoughts.

Events

To reach a wider audience, we regularly arrange opportunities for informed debate and discussion with influential politicians, policy advisers, business leaders and other bodies.

Party conferences

We organise activities at political party conferences to showcase IOSH and promote our aims to delegates. Our exhibition stand is a focal point for delegates to have informal discussions. Fringe meetings offer more opportunities to debate topical issues, with influential panellists.
