Hong Kong Branch

Chairman’s Message

HK ChairmanDear Branch Members,

It is my great honour to be elected as the Chairman of Hong Kong Branch this year and take up this important role in leading the Branch to its continuous development.

The Branch will continue to strive for membership development and professional link with other stakeholders, and maintain a very close working relationship with the Headquarters of IOSH (HQ) through Council’s involvement and annual Networks Conferences.

It is very pleased to note that the Branch, being as a full member of the Asia Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organizations (APOSHO) in 2014, will work with the Hong Kong Occupational Safety and Health Association (HKOSHA) and the HQ to jointly organise the APOSHO 33 Conference in Hong Kong in 2018.  The Branch is going to start the preparation work for this special project soon.

Currently, our Branch has about 800 members. About 60% of them are Chartered Members or Chartered Fellows while the rest are either Technical, Graduate or Affiliate Members. In order to assist the non-chartered members in moving up the professional ladder, it is about time for the Branch to work closely with HQ to streamline the IPD and CPD process.

IOSH is the big family. The Branch cannot be operating effectively without support of our valued Members.  I therefore appeal for your contributions and supports in sharing your valuable OSH knowledge and skills and, but not the least, participation as volunteers to assist in the delivery of this special project to be held in 2018.

With warmest regards,

WY Wong
Chairman of HK Branch 2015-2016
