Competition can construct a successful career
6 January 2012
Members of IOSH’s Construction Group are being
encouraged to enter the IOSH/HSE Innovation in Safety – Small
Business Award, to find new ways to improve health and safety in
this high risk industry.
The entrant with the best new idea will win
£1,000 and a free ticket to IOSH 2012, as well as industry-wide
recognition for their work.
This year, the competition is themed around
IOSH’s
Li£e Savings campaign which showcases how good health and
safety management can save businesses serious cash. Your entries
will prove to businesses that by doing health and safety well, not
only do you protect your people, but you can also improve the
bottom line.
To enter, all you have to do is tell us about
the work you’ve done to improve health and safety in a small
business which has led to the firm saving money – from bringing
insurance premiums down to cutting agency staff cover costs.
Encouraging members to enter, Chair of the
Construction Group David Ackerley said:
“This competition is an excellent opportunity
to highlight the good work you do, and get recognition for it. Your
ideas will really benefit small businesses in our industry.
It will also give you a building block to help
develop your career. Last year’s winner, Anthony Tetlow, managed to
secure more business through the publicity he received from winning
the competition.”
The award is open to all IOSH membership
categories.

deadline for entries is 31 January 2012.
